christmas lunch

I have been thinking of what can i make for christmas lunch ,finally i have come to the decison . kerala porotta and mutton curry .i dint want to be in the kitchen for a long time since i have emma ( my daughter ) now .she hates me when i start cooking ,she would rather have me carry her ,sometimes she does love to eat what i make ,once in a while she will give out a comment kollam ( which means good in my language ).also i know my husband will love the porotta and meat curry .

kerala parotta recipe .

maida - 2 cups
baking powder - 1/4 tsp
salt - 1/2 tsp
oil- 2 tablespoon
hot water - 1cup

combine flour, baking power ,oil and salt in a large bowl
boil 1 cup of water and pour into the flour mix use a spoon to stir, after 5 min or so
knead it with your hand to a soft dough.
keep the dough in a greased bowl for a 1hr to 2 hrs .

divide the dough into small portions ,form a ball and roll it out like a chappti ,once its
rolled out to the maximum .cut the flattened dough in the middle to two parts  and apply oil and gather the porotta like a fan and make it into a circle .
apple some oil on top of it and go ahead and make the next one .

porotta needs to be cooked in medium heat or it will become too hard.

chocolate truffles the simple way

I wanted a simple recipe for chocolate truffles .finally found one ,so thought i will start my blog with the posting of this recipe since i have a sweet tooth .

1 package  semi sweet chocolate chips - 365gms
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 tablesoon butter
1cup chocolate power
3/4 cup - chopped almonds or cashews .

Melt the chocolate chips.condensed milk and butter on a low heat ,once its completely melted and mix in the chopped nuts , pour in a square baking dish and let it cool in the refrigerator for 3 hrs .once its cooled cut in cubes ,roll into a ball with the palm of your hands the size of a marble and dip it in the chocolate powder .Its very rich so making small truffles might be a better choice .
